Relaxation & Sleep Tonic

This is a version of one of my favourite Ayurvedic drinks, that soothes and calms the nervous system at any time of day. 

It contains FIVE powerful ingredients each with there own healing properties. 

Perfect if your feeling anxious or stressed to calm and relax the body. 

Also beneficial just before bed to help you ease into a peaceful nights sleep. 

1 cup whole milk -Or you can use nut milk or soy

1/4 cup of filtered water

1⁄4-teaspoon ground ashwagandha

1⁄4-teaspoon ground ginger

1⁄4-teaspoon ground cinnamon

1⁄4-teaspoon ground turmeric

1⁄4-teaspoon ground cardamom

Pinch of black pepper freshly ground

1/4 teaspoon virgin coconut oil or ghee

1-teaspoon (preferably raw) honey

(All of the spice ingredients are available here) 

Heat milk and water in a saucepan with all of the ingredients except honey. 

Whisk to blend and bring to simmer allowing the spices to infuse in the liquid. 

Take off the heat and stir in honey.

Drink and allow your body to reap the benefits of these powerful and healing spices.
